Located in the heart of Europe, the Slovakia has only been an independent country since January 1, 1993. For about 1000 years prior to this it had been part of the Kingdom of Hungary and from the end of World War I, the minor partner of the country of Czechoslovakia. Below are links to historic areas of the country in which our ancestors lived and worked.
